Fertility & IVF

Fertility challenges can arise unexpectedly, and navigating conception can feel overwhelming, exhausting and, at times, incredibly isolating. With so much information available at our fingertips, it can be difficult to know what applies to you and where to begin.

Traditional Chinese Medicine looks beyond individual symptoms to understand the whole person. Your menstrual cycle, health history, lifestyle, emotional wellbeing and fertility concerns all help inform an individualised treatment plan, tailored to your needs.

Together, we can explore your blood tests and fertility results, help you understand what they may mean, and provide support for your physical and emotional wellbeing as you navigate your journey towards conception.

Research is continuing to explore the role of acupuncture in fertility care. A 2026 systematic review and meta analysis reported an association between acupuncture alongside IVF and higher clinical pregnancy and live birth rates (Ganchuluun, Hsu and Hung, 2026).

A separate systematic review and meta analysis explored acupuncture for women with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR). The researchers reported improvements in several reproductive markers, including follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), the FSH-to-LH ratio, anti Müllerian hormone (AMH) and antral follicle count (AFC) (Lin et al., 2023).

While further research is needed to understand these findings fully, this work highlights the growing interest in acupuncture as part of an integrative approach to fertility care.

Whether you are just beginning to explore your fertility, have been trying to conceive for some time, or are preparing for IVF, The Healing Space Bristol offers a calm, nurturing space where you can feel listened to, understood and supported throughout your journey.
