Endometriosis
Endometriosis is a condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the womb, commonly affecting the ovaries, fallopian tubes and pelvic cavity. This tissue responds to hormonal changes throughout the menstrual cycle and can contribute to inflammation, scar tissue and adhesions, which may cause significant pain and discomfort.
Symptoms can include painful periods, chronic pelvic pain, pain during or after sex, premenstrual spotting, and bowel or bladder symptoms, particularly around menstruation. Everyone’s experience of endometriosis is different, and symptoms can vary in severity.
At The Healing Space Bristol, treatments are tailored to the individual, taking into account your symptoms, menstrual cycle and overall wellbeing. Research shows that acupuncture can help reduce pelvic pain that occurs during Endometriosis.
